Tributes pour in for murdered Scots dad hailed as ‘lovely wee guy’ and ‘true friend’
Tributes have been paid to a young Scots dad who was murdered on Friday, as a police investigation into the death continues.
Thomas Bowers was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident in the Springburn area of Glasgow. A second man was left seriously injured in the incident, which took place around 5.25 am on Friday, April 14.
Thomas, 33, from Royston, has been described as a “lovely wee guy” by friends and family after his body was discovered in Auchinloch Street, reports Glasgow Live. Following the news of his death, shocked loved ones took to social media to pay tribute to the young dad.
One friend said: “RIP Thomas Bowers a true friend to my family and good friend to me. Royston will never be the same, thinking of all TB’s family and friends, you will never be forgotten love you brother god takes the best.”
Another added: “So sad can’t believe it lovely wee guy.” A third wrote: “Honestly still can’t get my head around this boy went above and beyond for anyone. Rest easy TB thoughts are with the family especially your babies.”
A fourth person mentioned another life being lost to violence in the city, writing: “Another young life taken too soon thoughts are with your family and friend rest in peace son.”
A murder investigation has been launched in the wake of Thomas’ death. Police are also probing the attempted murder of the second person, a 52-year-old man, discovered at the scene.
Police said they are also investigating a report of a white Vauxhall Astra car found on fire in Gadie Street around 6.10 am on the day of the attacks. The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Lynsey Watters of Police Scotland said: “Our thoughts are with Mr. Bowers’s family and we are providing them with support at this very difficult time. Our investigation into his murder and the attempted murder of the second man is ongoing and I would urge anyone who can help to get in touch as soon as you can.
